The wolf parted her lips, and breathed in the soft, fruity air of Spring. It was fairly warm, with a light breeze just gently brushing by, tickling her fur into a strange dancing motion. It was enough to lull anyone into a false sense of security. But not this one. Oh no. Certainly not this one. Not she who had tasted the blood of so many, and stood by and watched so many more die. Not she who heard the gasping last words and made sure they were never famous.
Malaysia knew that behind these false pretences, there was a grimy film, and that it lay over all of these lands, sticking to it like weeds to fur. She knew that in the depths of the woods there were ambushes waiting, opposing gangs lying in wait for one another like it wasn't a trick they hadn't pulled a hundred times before. She knew that there were bones at the bottom of the lake, and vultures picking at carcasses in the marsh, and that in the dead of night, howls rang out from the gang territories and the members tried to exert their authority and train for later battles. Battles were inevitable. They would always come.
So this was the world, was it? This was what things had become? Ruled by the need for power? Fueled by the blood of the innocent and the guilty alike?
"Perfect," Came the low growl from Malaysia's throat, as her jaw twisted into a strange, eerie smirk. Yes. Perfect.
This was just the kind of world that Malaysia liked. Probably because she fitted into it perfectly. She'd never been a huge fan of just slotting into the jigsaw - always preferring to go against the grain, rub people the wrong way, go against the flow of the river - but that was before now. Before this. Before lands that were caught in the crossfire, and before creatures whose only purposes were to kill and be killed. It was like spending your whole life a square trying to live in a triangle box, and then realising that not every box was the wrong shape. There was always one that would fit.
Everything about it made her feel alive. Of course, she wasn't as strong as she would like to be, or as powerful, but it wouldn't take long to prove herself. She was good at that. As she was good at many things. She knew it wouldn't be long before her enemies started to fear her very name, and see her eyes gleaming at them from within their very dreams. But until then - until she'd had those chances - until then, she felt very much alive. She could do the things that excited her the most without fear of retribution.
Not that she had ever felt fear. No, that was an alien emotion to this wise wolf, who took no prisoners and gave nothing away.
Enough thought - she had come here for a purpose, and it was time to get to work. To train herself. Malaysia was physically brilliant, if she didn't say so herself, and she felt no need to exercise her physical strength today, or push her body to it's boundaries. But her telekinesis, her Control, could do with some work. Finding the hustle and bustle of the Niamh territory too distracting, she had decided to leave her boundaries and come to the neutral grounds, where it was easier to concentrate than home but less dangerous than trespassing. Still not a hundred percent safe, of course, but she was less likely to find herself slaughtered here.
She chose a secluded copse of trees to the far east of the woods in which to conduct her training, a place she knew was too wide open for an ambush and too close to the forest edge to be a hunting spot. In theory, it should be the perfect place to practise undisturbed. After first scouting the nearby area for other canines, and finding nothing living, and only very faint scent marks from weeks before, Malaysia sat down in the centre of the clearing. Her red eyes gleamed as she focused all of her mental energy on a low hanging branch of the tree directly ahead of her.
Start small.
Think big.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MOTION !?the words are coming, i feel terrible, so, here's the thing about motion.
he doesn't really see females as equals. males, in his opinion, are the ones who are meant to fight, who are meant to lead. females just stay in their cosy little dens, suckling pups and offering themselves as a toy to any male who they came across. females were useful for one thing, and one thing only. reproduction. motion would soon find himself a pretty little bitch to settle down with, and have his pups. pups with his strength, his bright red eyes that struck fear into the hearts of all he knew. well, most he knew. that damn stubborn bitch banshee probably didn't fear him, and what annoyed him the most was that she was a female, and possibly the only canine in the city who rivaled his power.
oh, if only he knew of what was to come.
the fighting, however, had gone on for too long, in his opinion. sure, he liked a good fight, and hell, it was especially fun when he was the one shedding the blood. but in all honesty, it did have to stop now. he had arranged to meet with banshee soon, to resolve this war someway else, without any more lives being lost. both tidus and aetos had lost too many members to throw yet more canines into the fray. boy, there had been alot of blood though. it was rather tragic, when you think about it. all those lives.... well, i suppose it was a good way to go, don't you think? better than a boring old heart attack, or dying in your sleep. i mean, how cliche and plain. dying a bloody death was definitely the way motion wanted to go, when his time came. but he wasn't even halfway through his time on earth, yet. he had plenty more things he wanted to do first, more things he wanted to see.
as he stalked through the darkness, bright red eyes gleaming through the shadows the trees cast upon his frame and his surroundings, a rather bored sigh escaped his parted lips. the only reason he'd come out here is because he was getting rather bored of tidus territory. out of his subordinates who had survived, none of them were exactly a 'raise-the-roof' type. either busying themselves with their surviving family, or wandering off for days at a time. there was nobody around for motion to have a decent conversation with. there were always the oldies, but they just rambled on about 'back in their day'. i mean, really, must they live in the past? around here, it was all about the future, couldn't they see that? well no, most couldn't, due to their cataracts.
"stupid old fools. i do respect them for their wisdom, yet sometimes, they don't know what the fuck they're on about."
a scent reached his nares. the scent of a female. hmm, this will be interesting. a bitch to woo, perhaps? or maybe one to admire from afar. either way, as long as they don't turn out to be banshee, i'll gladly make myself acquainted with them... he wiggled his eyebrows to himself, snickering as he did so. boy, did he love girls. as he was rewarded with the view of the canine, he soon realized she was a she-wolf. and quite a good looking one at that. she wasn't particularly curvy, or petite, but there was a vibe about her that made her seem strong. hmm... we'll soon see. he silently watched her from the shadows, waiting for her to use her controls so he could observe first hand if this female was different to his stereotype.
hah, he'd be awfully surprised if she was.

At first, nothing happened. Malaysia stared at the branch, and the branch did nothing. It was a branch - it did not answer to the calls of wolves. It sat on a tree all day and all night, growing leaves, occasionally beaning fruit, a servant of Mother Nature herself, the giver of life. It paid the four legged creature on the ground no attention. Or at least, it wouldn't, if it had a conciousness to make these kinds of decisions with.
Malaysia had expected that, though. Nothing ever happened instantaneously. Just like this tree bore its fruit only one season of a year, harbouring the power for a Control took a little time. Not much, of course, and it varied depending on the skill and age of the user, but even Narcotic himself would experience a small, almost insignificant delay before mentally giving his command and then seeing it happen and come to fruition. So she kept watching that branch. And as she did, it began to move.
First it moved so little that the naked eye could hardly see it - but the sounds gave it away. The branch creaked, a little creak of wooden pain, then creaked again, louder now, and again, louder - and then suddenly the movement was apparent. The branch twisted this way and that, as if of it's own accord, as if it were possessed. It struggled against it's binding to the tree trunk, and with with each crack, creak, or snap, it's movements seemed to get wilder until eventually -
With a final echoing crack! the branch broke away from the tree and flew out into the clearing. Malaysia barked excitedly, smirking, and in her short lapse of judgement the free branch sailed over her head unexpectedly. She quickly stood and backed up so as not to lose sight of her toy, cutting short her enjoyment and narrowing those red eyes once again focusing properly on mastering her Control. With that focus, the branch came to a perfect stop in the air. It hovered there in silence, like a strange wooden fly. Malaysia smirked.
Slowly, still keeping her eyes fixed on the branch, Malaysia circled around the floating object, considering how next to exercise her control. It was then that she caught the glimpse of red, in the shadows between the trees, and found herself distracted. She peered back as the two red eyes, momentarily confused. In her distraction, the branch began to sway a little in the air, but remained air borne under the will of her Control. Was there something reflective in the trees that she had not noticed before? Was she staring at herself? Red eyes were not common, and she knew of only one other -
Shit.
Realisation dawned on her then. The Tidus Alpha. Tilting her head to the wind, she tried to catch the scent on the air, but she was upwind, and instead it was her scent that was carried to him. But she knew of no others with red eyes, and concluded that she was either about to meet a very unfortunate loner, or a great enemy. Still, she reasoned. If it was who she suspected it was, the fact he had not attacked her yet must mean that she was not reeking of Niamh. If she played it cool, and acted the loner, she might avoid direct physical confrontation here.
So, Malaysia decided to play the game.
She raised her hackles, as any interrupted wolf would, and lowered her head, staring back at those eyes that felt so much like a reflection. "Who goes there?" She called out to the trees, the branch still floating its gleeful float above her head.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MOTION !?the words are coming, i feel terrible, so, it seemed as if he hadn't been noticed yet.
this, he didn't particularly care about. she seemed pretty caught up in the whole 'telekinesis' thing, and as she stared at the branch, it seemed as if her eyes began to glow. was it perhaps with determination? or maybe it was the way the shadows made her violently bright scarlet orbs stand out against her obsidian pelt. how intriguing she looked. she was the only one he'd seen in this city who had eyes like his in a long time. in fact, the last time his bloody red orbs met with those the mirror image of his was when he killed his father. it had been the last time their gazes met, as the son dealt the killing blow on his sire. it would've been sad, if the brute hadn't been such a bastard. sure, motion was no saint, but he sure as hell didn't want to turn out like his father. he was softer with his gang than his father had been to them, and those who were around then, would tell you now that motion was a damn sure better leader than kurosin had ever been. raping females, killing pups that hadn't been sired than him, taking advantage of the elderly... now, motion was quite a 'lad', impregnating females when they caught his fancy, he would admit to that. but he never raped them. he did have morals, even if he didn't admit to them. and he had never laid a paw upon a pup, whether they were his or not. in fact, he had never got involved with any of his offspring, either too busy with politics or he simply didn't want to get attached. if he did, it'd hurt a whole lot more if they were killed in the fighting - which some of them already had been, some of his older ones anyway - or if they simply left tidus. although, he didn't think of such things now.
he had no heirs yet, and he wasn't exactly in a rush to get them. yet, he knew he needed them.
besides, the thought of having a mate... it was pleasing to think of, in the sense that one girl, out of his entire gang, could be his. she wouldn't have to be a common whore that got leapt at day after day by ever the randy males of tidus. because he knew full well, that even though he wasn't a rapist, some of his subordinates were, and he couldn't be everywhere at once. he frowned upon brutality and assault amongst his gang members, yet he knew it happened anyway. it seemed as if he had mellowed over the past year. the loss of more than half his gang had been quite a blow to him. those damn aetos. he'd have to restrain himself a hell of a lot to not launch himself at banshee the moment he laid eyes on her. yet, he knew that this war had been his fault too. if anything, it was more his fault than hers. he had instigated it. but she... she and her gang, they existed. and if they'd existed without any confrontation, aetos would have just got more and more powerful, and one day, they would've struck first. but to think of such things annoyed him. he wouldn't be beaten. they would have to resolve this another way, so the break from fighting was quite a welcome thing. although he did miss the scuffles. as he observed the female, who had now broken the branch clean in half and was moving the broken section towards her, a crooked smirk spread across his face. hmm, not bad. not bad at all. if he could clap, he would. yet, no doubt it would probably be one of those slower, slightly sarcastic rounds of applause than the enthusiastic, one hundred percent genuine ones.
sure, what she had done with the branch was pretty good, and actually, better than some of his subordinates who had the power of telekinesis. but he wasn't about to shout her praise, was he? he wasn't that kind of guy. he admired silently.
when she finally noticed that she was no longer alone, her gaze snapped to face with. those eyes... "it's like looking in a mirror, isn't it?" he uttered, his tone eerie and rumbling from the shadows. licking his lips, he padded forward, his body no longer hidden in the shadows. tilting his head to the side slightly, his smirk widened, his teeth now revealed to the world, beneath his blackened lips. now i shall have a bit of fun with her. he took another step, sighing loudly. [color=Red"isn't it a wonderful day to be out and about? it's so.... serene here. away from the hustle and bustle of life, don't you think?"
[/b] he blinked, and turned his head towards her, before lifting his nose to the air, inhaling. "hmm, what an.... irregular scent. can't quite put my finger on it though. not particularly strong... yet. ah well, i'm sure it'll come to me." his red eyes gleamed, and he turned away, padding off to sit about ten or so inches away from her. now his eyes were trained on the stick, which was suspended by an unseen force. "pretty good.... for a girl."he smirked, a devilish look in his eye. [/blockquote] NOTES !?! x3 this thread's getting quite interesting.CREDIT !?! MRS. Like looking in a mirror, isn't it?
"Quite," Malaysia replied shortly, her body remaining still, he posture more defensive than aggressive, her slightly lowered head an apparent sign of respect for his superior ranking - even though her mind showed none of the respect for him that her body did. But that was all part of the game, wasn't it? To play the part. To act like something you are not in order to survive. Malaysia did it every day within her own gang lands, so why not here, in the open, where it would rarely be suspected that she should lie? Why lie in a place that reeked of freedom?
These were all the things that Malaysia thought about in that short space of time. That was who she really was. She second guessed everything, imagined further possibilities, different options, possible futures. She had the best tactical mind that had been seen in a long time, and she knew it very well - it was just a case of proving it to her superiors, and making her way through the ranks. It took time, but she was patient. It took skill, but she had that. And sometimes, it took a little foul play, but in that, the little bitch revelled.
He was talking about scent now. Malaysia grew wary. She could not read those eyes like she could so many others. She hadn't expected to be able to either. The Alphas of each gang were practised enough, and had lived through hardships enough, to know how to control their expressions, limit what they accidentally confessed through their eyes. It was a level of control that only seemed to come to those destined for positions of great power. It must be, because she could read even the strongest subordinate like a book - but her superiors.. no. She could gather very little from them, if anything at all. And in this particular case, well, the Tidus Alpha was good at keeping himself in control.
So was he playing with her? Or was that flicker in his gaze mere sincerity? Surely, had he figured her out for who she was, he'd have set upon her like a demon - teeth bared, claws reaching for her throat? Her mind raced, considering her options, trying to determine what kind of game he was playing. How would his moves across their imaginary board fare against hers?
In a flash, though, all pretence was forgotten. Her unrivalled short temper took hold of her again, and she snarled at him, teeth and gums bared in anger. She let her claws dig into the hard ground, by way of control - losing her cool any further and leaping into a battle with this creature, of all creatures, would surely mean her end - and the snarl died out, its remenants echoing over the clearing. With another sudden and loud crack! the branch overhead snapped cleanly in two. And all this because of three simple words -
...for a girl.
Malaysia lowered her head again and returned to her original stance, giving a short exhale through her nose, like a snort, lips still curled into some semblance of a growl. "Don't tell me - you're an egotistical sexist prick like the rest of them," she replied with gusto.
Well, you had to admit it - the girl had guts.

she could certainly play her games well.
he knew for a fact that females tended to be much better at mind games than males, and yes, he would admit it, smarter too. motion knew he wasn't the smartest canine in the city, but that didn't matter. he had the bulk, the size. and although tidus wasn't as large and prosperous as it once was, it wouldn't be long before their numbers soon shot up again. he knew of several tidus bitches that were pregnant, and only a couple of them were pregnant by him. not like it mattered, it just proved that his subordinates were having a good time amongst themselves. and as long as the pups grew up to be obedient and strong, well, he didn't care who they were fathered by.
scarlet red orbs swivelled to his right, to lackadaisically observe her. oh come on, surely you'd have to be a fool to believe that she was an innocent loner. now he was sitting beside her, he could detect the reek of something else entirely. another gang, perhaps? well, he didn't know of any gangs, but he did know that members of tidus went missing regularly, even though the war had ended. he would've suspected aetos, but he'd heard - and this was just through the grapevine - that canines from aetos were also disappearing. with both their numbers drastically halved, motion supposed that it was just as well that he and banshee were meeting to try and discuss things. well, try as in 'they would try not to rip each other apart in the process of the meeting'. it would be hard for them, but they both knew that it was for the best of their gangs. and no matter how hard motion's iron paw ruled over tidus, he'd always wanted what was best for his gang. and now most of them were dead. he sighed at the thought, and scowled a little.
when his attention snapped back to the female that stood beside him, he could tell that she was no longer playing dumb. hah, here we go... this is where things get interesting... motion's smug smirk now widened to a crooked grin, as his red eyes flashed menacingly. when a snarl erupted from her parted lips, her fangs now bared in his direction, motion snickered. that snicker turned into a hearty chuckle, and he shook his head mockingly at the she-wolf. "oh dear oh dear. is the puppy angry?" he licked his lips hungrily, and added to his previous statement. "although i must admit, you aren't such a puppy anymore, are you?" she was quite an attractive female. not pretty, or cute. and with that snarl plastered on her face, and her demonic red eyes glowing in the fading light of the forest, he wouldn't go as far to say she was beautiful. but attractive? yes, yes she was quite.
rising to his paws, he now noted that the branch she was manipulating with her telekinesis powers had now snapped in half. oh dear, had what he said not gone down well? his crooked grin now died back down into a smirk, and his ferocious gaze narrowed in her direction as vicious words were uttered - no, more like spat - at him. oh no, have i offended her? well, isn't that a shame. "oh, do forgive my pig-headedness, m'lady." the sarcastic drawl pierced the silence, seeing as malaysia's snarls had now ceased rather abruptly. "why yes, i do believe you are correct, she-wolf. egotistical, well, i would say that i am, yes. i do, after all, have the right to have a big ego. i'm an alpha, what alpha isn't egotistical? as far as being a 'prick' is concerned, i have been labelled that many a time by bitches quite like yourself."
he paused.
"oh, silly me. i suppose you think you're... hmm, what's the word.... unique?" at this, he let a harsh laugh pierce the atmosphere, before continuing. "but sexist, that is another word that has been used to describe me during the course of my lifetime. i doubt the intelligence and strength of any bitch i come across until i am proven otherwise. care to enlighten me on how strong you really are, she-wolf?" he cracked a grin. "come now, what say you, eh? surely you don't doubt your strength against me, do you..."
another pause.
"...femme?"
