the weather was rather pleasant today.
it was spring, so there wasn't much surprise that the sun was shining, and the grass beneath his paws felt alot more springier than it did during the summer and autumn. in the winter, well, the floor was just covered in snow. gravity quite liked snow. it was fun to roll around in. he sounded like a pup then, and when messing about in the cold white stuff that blanketed the city and it's surroundings once a year, he looked like one aswell. but the young dalmatian wasn't really one to take other's opinions to heart. after all, he was used to being labelled as many things. most of them being 'coward' or 'wimpy shrimpy' - a nickname given to him by his older siblings, a rather cruel one at that, although they never meant any harm - and gravity simply shrugged it off. stick and stones, right? gravity hadn't really been 'bullied', per say, simply teased a little.
"they were just messing around..."
he uttered out loud, and chuckled a little to himself. currently, he found himself strolling through the forest. well, i say stroll, it was more of a... well, a walk really. there was no other word to describe his gait. he wasn't loping, running, hopping, skipping or even strolling. simply... walking. his shoulders were relaxed, as were the rest of his body, but you could tell by his dark blue eyes that he wasn't really relaxed. he didn't really relax at all. his body looked at ease, but his eyes and ears were a completely different story. he couldn't help being a meek little fellow, and it wasn't like his past made him that way either. he was just.... well, he had no confidence, really. he wasn't exactly attractive, although he had been admired by males and females alike. it's not like he looked particularly colourful, either. not compared to some of the other canines here. jeez, just the other day he saw a wolf with a rainbow pelt.
i kid you not, a rainbow pelt of all things.
ah well, gravity wasn't one to judge on appearance. he hadn't spoken to the said rainbow wolf, so he had no idea if the lupine was actually similar to his pelt. colourful and outgoing. unlike him. he wasn't particularly colourful, and until you got particularly close to him, he looked like an average, black and white dalmatian. yes, maybe his dark blue eyes were a giveaway that he wasn't exactly run-of-the-mill, like dalmatian's back when the humans were around. but his mother, she was normal in every conceivable way, liver and white, perhaps. but she didn't have any colourful markings. she was rather plain. but his father hadn't minded. he loved her all the same. and that's who he wanted in a partner. someone who would love him unconditionally, and not care about looks. cause gravity didn't care about the looks of other canines. he cared about what was inside.
wow, now that was cliche.
but it was true. the male came to a halt in a small clearing, and planted his rump down on the ground, resting his tired legs, stretching himself out. he'd been walking for a good few hours. his travels had been particularly aimless, gravity had just wanted to explore for a bit. seeing as he was a loner, he did have quite a bit of freedom compared to the pack dogs. tidus couldn't go on aetos territory or they'd be killed, and aetos couldn't barge in on tidus or the same would happen to them. or at least beaten up badly, if they managed to escape, or fight back. seeing as he was quite a mellow guy, not particularly liking any kind of conflict, gravity tended to stay away from the gang territories unless he desperately had to go there. and in all four of his years in this place, he hadn't had to cross the borders of the unclaimed lands and tidus or aetos lands.
not once.
and for that, he was rather grateful. the leaders of the gangs particularly intimidated him, and he would rather not bump into any of them, especially in a dark, creepy forest.... the thought sent shivers down his spine. but, word on the street was that there was a third leader making himself known, and gravity knew it was just one more guy to be scared of. great.
notes; -pets grav- isn't he precious. -snicker- i find the last paragraph particularly ironic, cause he's at the lake with narc now. -snicker- word count; 739.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=background,http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/af101/Siberia_North/lotusmiddle.png] "You know, I believe I mentioned that I like that coat your wearing an awful lot the last time you were here. I also said that you should lend it to me sometime." One ear angled down as the silence drew on. "I'm curious as to why you are here, if not to lend me your fur. I see you around here quite a lot. Pause. "Do you find stalking me amusing?"
The navy colored rabbit twitched it's nose but said nothing, much to the surprise of the coyote watching. Appalled that the critter didn't respond, he inched closer and stared at it. It stared back, very unafraid, with emerald green eyes. Lotus let out a breath, and the hare flicked one ear but continued to munch on one of the coyotes prized bushes. It used it's front paws to pick a berry, and after sniffing it, began to chew it.
"I hope you know that those pretty black berries," He nudged the bush with his nose. "Are called Atropa Belladonna, and are extremely poisonous." The rabbit didn't budge, though it paused in it's chewing. "Does nightshade ring a bell?" The coyote asked cheerily, though his blue eyes narrowed dangerously.
The rabbit quickly began to spit out the seeds, and Lotus' grin widened. "I'm kidding, the poisonous nightshade is that way. This one has no poison whatsoever." The shifter was not amused. "Shifter, eh? Well missy, I hope you've learned your lesson. Off with you now, the only one allowed to lurk in my shrubbery is the handsome male of my dreams, so scat!"
With a flick of his tail, the coyote pushed the rabbit away from his gardens, she gave a short huff and bounded off. Lotus beamed and watched the rabbit bound away, cute butt... But, not his type. He was more of a man lover, really. Lotus, you see, is gay and has a thing for men. He doesn't hate women, but finds them catty and obnoxious.
Lotus was about to turn around to tend to his garden when something caught his eye. Twisting around, he found himself looking past the trees and into a clearing. His blue eyes widened and soon he found himself staring at a Dalmatian, a male. A remarkably handsome male. He, surprisingly, also had a cute butt, and without thinking, Lotus all but flew into the clearing.
The coyote stopped inches away from the male, and shoved his nose right against the Dalmatians. "Now you, gorgeous, I'd allow to lurk in my shrubbery."
Of course, the Dalmatian probably had no idea what he was talking about, but this was male hormone talk. Sorta. Lotus got all funny around males that were good looking, and this boy beat the rest of the pack down to middle class. Rising to his tiptoes, the smaller coyote tried to keep his nose touching the other males, his tail wagging in an erratic arc. Man, he looked even better up close, and those eyes were enough to make anyone swoon. Probably even the infamous Banshee, leader of Aetos.
[ ah man, I love Lottie. xD ]
